The Beautiful Work Project
noun
/ˈpräˌjekt/
1.an individual or collaborative enterprise that is carefully planned and designed to achieve a particular aim.
Here’s what we think the Beautiful Work Project means.
We do work that’s significant: paid and unpaid, glamorous and laborious.
We are intentional: with our words, choices, values, priorities, we engage in learning and deliberate practice, we see value in mundane actions that are necessary for habit formation.
We are complex: we can't be put into any one category based on who we are, what we do, why we do it, where we’re from, how we come across to others.
We are part of a community: those we work with, those who depend on us, those we depend on.
We create culture and climate: with each choice we make, we can embrace the norm or swim upstream.
We do hard things: we can do things that haven't been done, we can go against the current, we can take risks, we know that simple isn’t easy.
We change systems: we start with ourselves, but we won't stop there, our own experience gains value when we extend the implications to others.
We do things differently: than others in our company, industry, our family.
